About the same size as the cylindrical Logitech Ultimate Ears BOOM Wireless Bluetooth Speaker, the 808 Hex SL is designed to be a a fashion statement at least as much as it is an audio accessory. A speaker inside the column fires upright at a cone that disperses the sound in all directions. Unfortunately, the sound was unpleasant and harsh, lacking the balance and seemingly effortless output from the Logitech. Also, I couldn't help but think that if used as a travel speaker that crud was going to end up falling through the honeycomb grill and end up bouncing on the speaker. Now, in fairness, the unit is less than half the price of the Logitech speaker, yet (at just about any price) the sound quality was so poor that I couldn't recommend it unless you were more interested on how it looks than how it sounds.
