To the increasingly flooded market of small Bluetooth speakers add this new entry from Amazon. It comes in four shades: red, blue, black and grey, and claims a five hour battery life for its 3 watt amp and single speaker. The sound is reminiscent of the transistor AM/FM radios of the mid-twentieth century: Not a lot of bass, emphasis on the mid and upper mid-range. This is not a portable party speaker; it is much better than many of the similar speakers: solid, small, just over half a pound, rechargeable, but its comfortable volume is appropirate to one's personal space. You're not going to hear it over a roomful of revelers. It makes a great speaker to put on your desk while you study. Pluses: Relatively inexpensive, unoffensive amplification, good personal speaker, relatively small (3.3 x 1.7 x 2.6 inches) and light (just over half a pound). I like that it can play while charging via the included micro-usb cable. Note: no other power adapter is provided). Downsides: a bit bulky to carry around in a pocket, short on bass, need to remember to charge it up, no replaceable batteries.
